YES on Motion 5 – Revise ARTICLE III, Section 1, Bylaw A
Upset by our election victory, some politicians have opted to circumvent accountability by coordinating their campaigns through county parties. This is a complete disregard for your voices, your authority as SCC members, and for the very principals of democracy.
Motion 5 is one of the most important motions on the agenda. If approved, this amendment would:
- Hold politicians accountable to the State Central Committee by returning authority to you, the central committee members.
- Prevent abuse and misrepresentation by keeping outside organizations from fundraising using the State Democratic Party’s name.
- Enforce the democratic process by allowing the party to censure and discipline individuals and groups who willfully disregard your party bylaws.
Motion 5 is crucial for protecting the integrity of your party and the democratic process. We MUST win Motion 5!
